Site access & arrival information
The site is currently preparing for building work to begin on a brand-new Scout hut, so there are a few changes to how you’ll arrive and a couple of things to be aware of.
You can no longer access the site via the driveway. You’ll now enter through a new pedestrian metal gate.
The biggest thing to be aware of at the moment is right at the entrance. There is a manhole covering the site water meter which is currently in a state of disrepair. You’ll need to carefully step up and over this when entering through the pedestrian gate. We’re hoping this will be resolved very soon. You can get a pushchair up here too — it’s best to go backwards when coming back down!
You can still access the whole site with a pushchair, although there are a few woodland roots, hills and obstacles to contend with along the way! Once you arrive, simply follow the arrows up into the woods.
You’re welcome to leave pushchairs at either tent - one is at the bottom of the site and one is at the top - or bring them all the way up to the top if you prefer.
I’ll also share a video on my Instagram showing you exactly what to expect when you arrive, so hopefully this will make finding us a little easier.
There is no longer any onsite parking as the car park has been sectioned off for the building works. You can still park outside the main gate, on the site side of Hucknall Road, in the bus lane. The bus lane is not operational during our session times.
There are also portaloos available near the main entrancem for your use.
Our sessions will still run as normal and will look exactly the same once you’re up in the woods. The only difference is that you’ll now be arriving through the woods rather than coming up the driveway, with a few obstacles to navigate along the way.
Hopefully, it’ll actually be a much more beautiful route in — a little woodland adventure before you even reach us!
We’re really excited to see the construction develop and think the kids will enjoy watching it all take shape too. We can’t wait to see the new Scout hut finished and, eventually, to be able to use it!
