Forest Folk Play
Join us in the woods
Forest Folk Play is an award-winning outdoor stay and play provision for children of all ages, set in beautiful woodland in the heart of Nottingham.
Whether they enjoy creating messy masterpieces on our easel, role-play in our shop, investigating with water at our crazy guttering, exploring sound at our music station, or developing new skills like firelighting and tool work, our sessions really do have something for all children – whatever their interests!
Forest Folk Play is hosted by Jo, a Level 3 Forest School Leader who has worked with young children as a primary school teacher for 15 years. She is an early years specialist, SENCO, and former deputy head.
Jo and the whole Forest Folk Family are looking forward to welcoming you to our woodland wonderland!

Meet Jo – our forest school leader!
Jo has been working with young children as a primary school teacher for 15 years. She is an Early Years specialist, SENCO and former deputy Headteacher at a school in Nottingham. In 2014 she qualified as a Level 3 Forest School Leader and ran sessions throughout her time in post, before setting up Forest Folk Play in 2021 to provide an exciting alternative learning environment for children of all ages where they could develop a range of skills and benefit from playing in the great outdoors.
If you’re interested in learning more about Forest Folk Play or booking onto one of our sessions, Jo would love to hear from you!
